Afrovac Connect is a trusted organization that specializes in connecting international volunteers with faith-based organizations in Kenya. We have extensive experience in this field and work closely with our partners to ensure that volunteers have a meaningful and impactful experience.

There are various volunteer opportunities available in faith-based organizations in Kenya, including teaching, orphanage support, community development, healthcare assistance, and much more. We match volunteers with organizations based on their skills, interests, and availability.

The duration of your volunteer experience in Kenya depends on the specific program you choose. Volunteer opportunities can range from a few weeks to several months. We can help you find a program that fits your schedule and goals.

Volunteers are responsible for covering their insurance, flight, in-country travel, accommodation and any renewals.

In addition to the participation fee, volunteers will need to cover the following expenses:

  • Purchasing beverages such as soda, beer, etc.
  • Admission fees for sightseeing attractions
  • Visa fees
  • Direct contributions to projects
  • Local transportation expenses

AFROVAC CONNECT will arrange an affordable accommodation for the duration of your stay as follows:

While volunteering at your project:

  • Accommodation options include staying at the project site or with a host family.

During evaluation (post-project):

Any accommodation costs incurred before or after the project term will be the responsibility of the volunteer.

Will I receive a certificate upon completing my volunteer program?

Upon successful completion of your project, you will be awarded a Certificate of Recognition for Volunteer Service, acknowledging your participation in the volunteer program and your positive contributions. This certificate can enhance your resume, as many employers value volunteer travel experiences for their role in personal and professional development, as well as fostering cross-cultural competence.

In most cases, volunteers will be housed either in a host project or with a host family.

While risks exist in every country, we closely monitor and address them, provide thorough briefings to our volunteers, and have established protocols for handling security issues. AFROVAC CONNECT collaborates closely with government agencies and embassies. Volunteers are never deployed to areas facing immediate danger from war, civil unrest, or natural disasters.
